SUV strikes New York school bus

On a typical day, your local school bus will safely transport students to school. While this is the usual case, last week, some students did not make it to class on time. According to reports, a motor vehicle accident occurred on Albany Shaker Road in Colonie when a Honda collided with a school bus.

Sources say that a CRV crossed into oncoming traffic and struck the school bus, which was carrying 13 teenagers. Due to the force, the SUV rolled off of the road. Allegedly, the driver of the vehicle lost consciousness because of a medical problem. However, a local bus monitor noted that the bus driver could not have avoided the collision.

The bus driver was taken to a local hospital for an evaluation, and three high school students suffered injuries. Luckily, no injuries were fatal. Even so, if a person is harmed from a motor vehicle accident, he or she may be compensated for the injuries. For example, liability is commonly found in situations where a product defect was associated with the crash, a driver was not paying attention or a motorist was impaired from drugs or alcohol. In the context of this story, a court may find that the driver of the Honda was negligent and did not suffer from a medical condition. Even if the motorist was unconscious from a medical circumstance, he could be held responsible for ignoring such illness and operating a vehicle.

The bus accident must have been terrifying for the students involved in the crash. A collision is often alarming and life-altering. If you have been injured from an automobile accident, you may want to speak with someone about your rights and possibilities of recovery.
