Alcohol linked as cause of multiple-car accident in New York

We all know being involved in any car or truck accident can be serious. Even more serious are those accidents caused by impaired drivers who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. A recent Rochester, New York area car accident involved a 38-year-old woman who is being charged with driving while intoxicated after she caused a three-car accident.

Apparently under the influence of alcohol, the 38-year-old got into her vehicle and proceeded to drive the wrong way down a section of New York's Interstate 490. Her careless actions seem to have caused a multiple-car accident which resulted in occupants of the other two vehicles sustaining non-life threatening injuries. Charges against the woman are currently pending and include driving while intoxicated and vehicular assault.

Unfortunately drunk driving accidents are all too common in New York and across the United States and alcohol and drug impaired drivers continue to hurt and kill thousands of innocent drivers and passengers each year. Injuries sustained from drunk driving-related accidents often result in serious complications and a variety of injuries, including neck, back and spinal injuries, head and brain trauma, fractured bones and even death.

Choosing to get behind the wheel of a vehicle when you've been drinking is always a bad idea. Driving while intoxicated is dangerous, reckless and often results in serious injuries and consequences for all parties involved. Anyone who causes a drunk driving accident should be held liable for the injuries, pain and suffering, or death caused by their negligent and reckless behavior.
