Sexual Abuse Charges Lead to Dismissal of Entire School Faculty

The New York Times is reporting that an elementary school in Los Angeles will replace the entirety of its faculty after two teachers were arrested last week amid accusations of child sexual abuse. Click here to read the full article.

One of the teachers who was arrested was charged with 23 counts of committing lewd acts on a child. During the course of investigating that teacher, police uncovered allegations of a second teacher accused of groping two seven-year-old girls. The Times reports that the decision to release the entirety of the school's faculty was motivated by the school district's attempt to stymie the crisis in confidence among parents given the alleged extent of the abuse. Many parents kept their children out of school last week.
