One of the teachers who was arrested was charged with 23 counts of committing lewd acts on a child. During the course of investigating that teacher, police uncovered allegations of a second teacher accused of groping two seven-year-old girls. The Times reports that the decision to release the entirety of the school's faculty was motivated by the school district's attempt to stymie the crisis in confidence among parents given the alleged extent of the abuse. Many parents kept their children out of school last week.
