Law Makers Propose Legislation to Modify the Statute of Limitations for Individuals Affected by Environmental Contamination

On Wednesday, February 24, 2016, New York law makers introduced legislation that would modify the statute of limitations for those individuals affected by environmental contamination. The new bill comes in the wake of rising health concerns following the PFOA water contamination in Hoosick Falls. The proposed legislation states as follows:

New York DEC says it has indentified sources of PFOA contamination

On Thursday, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) issued a press release declaring that it has identified two of the parties responsible for the groundwater contamination in the Village of Hoosick Falls - a community located roughly 35 miles northeast of Albany.
