CooperVision's recall has been described as a "stealth recall" because of the company's alleged downplaying of reports. Moreover, it is reported that wider recalls have occurred in Hong Kong, Australia, Spain, Canada, Germany, and Italy. Anecdotal accounts of the physical damages caused by this product include abraised and torn corneas, blurred vision, and severe pain requiring emergency room treatment.
