Toddler trampoline recalled after safety concerns

When most people in Albany hear that a defective product has been recalled, they hope that it is not something that they use. What strikes fear in the hearts of most parents, however, is when that product recall is for a toy a child uses. While an adult can understand that a product recall needs to be taken seriously, a child may not and could injure him- or herself while trying to have fun.

Sadly, a toddler-sized trampoline has recently been recalled after there were concerns that the handlebar could fail. Around 8,000 of the toys have been sold throughout the country and it is likely that some have been sold in the upstate New York region. The toys cost approximately $100 and were sold earlier this year in small and large toy stores.

It is unknown if any children have been injured by this toy, but it is important to note that the parents of any children in Albany who are injured by consumer products can often file product liability lawsuits against the products' manufacturers. Manufacturers need to produce items that can be used safely and don't pose a risk to anyone who is using them properly. When they don't, they can be held responsible and forced to issue a product recall.

The trampoline is quite small, but it has a jumping mat and pads. As a safety measure, the manufacturers put a yellow bar with a blue handle on the edge of the trampoline, presumably to prevent a child from falling off the trampoline. The problem, however, is that the handle bar has been breaking, causing a risk of falling.
