See the FDA website for updates on their investigation.

Lead exposure is dangerous for people of any age, but children are particularly vulnerable.

Symptoms of lead poisoning can include:

  • Loss of Appetite
  • Fatigue
  • Irritability
  • Anemia
  • Abdominal Pain
  • Nausea and Vomiting
  • Constipation
  • Headaches
  • Joint Pain

Children who have been exposed to lead often don’t show symptoms right away.

According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), if your child may have consumed one of the affected products, you should talk to your pediatrician about getting a simple blood lead test to diagnose potential lead poisoning. Remember, your child may not show symptoms right away, which is why it’s important to be in touch with your healthcare provider.

Long-Term Effects of Lead Poisoning

The long-term effects of lead poisoning can be very serious, including:

  • Slowed Growth and Development
  • Damage to the Brain and Nervous System
  • Learning Disorders
  • Behavioral Disorders
  • Reduced Attention Span
  • Hearing and Speech Problems

Update January 24, 2024
